Resolved cases outnumber new COVID infections since Thursday in Renfrew County and district

The Renfrew County and District Health Unit has reported seven additional resolved cases and just three new COVID-19 infections since Thursday.

The June 14 case summary shows nine active cases (down from 13 June 10) with one person in hospital and eight individuals self-isolating in Renfrew County and district. The health unit reported one new case on Monday. The three newest infections are listed as community cases with two located in Laurentian Valley and one in Pembroke. As of June 14, there were also active cases in North Algona Wilberforce, Arnprior and McNab/Braeside.

Overall there have been 731 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Renfrew County and district since the start of the pandemic, with 713 considered resolved and nine deaths attributed to the virus. An additional 10 cases have screened positive for variants of concern since June 10, bringing the total of cases involving VOCs to 239.

The health unit reported nine positive cases in the past nine days, bringing the incidence rate to 8.3 per 100,000 individuals. The total number of tests completed for residents of RCD is now 100,915, an increase of 882 since June 10. For the tests completed in RCD May 31-June6, the positivity rate was 0.7 per cent. The RCDHU has responded to 22,734 COVID-related inquiries from residents and community partners since March 18, 2020.

The County of Renfrew Paramedic Service and Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre (RCVTAC) continue COVID-19 testing at clinics with locations throughout Renfrew County. The schedule for June 14-19 has been released with no clinics planned for Wednesday, but clinics on Saturday. There are clinics in Deep River Tuesday and Friday, Cobden Thursday and Laurentian Valley Friday. See the full schedules below for clinic times and locations.
